With our expertise in fitness, specifically strength training, sport specific training and athletic development, we provide customized training programs and protocols and offer a wide range of supplements tailored alongside the program to support your goals.
 

Methodology

Lifting our way

 

Although there is a wide range in variation in our programs (Blocs), from begginer to advanced athlete, fat to ripped, skinny to muscular, all of our work share certain priciples that guide us, some of which are:

 

Scientific Foundation:

  • All programs are grounded in scientific principles of strength and conditioning
  • An emphasis on structure ie. periodization, progressive overload, and individualized programming
  • Each program has been tried and tested, not only theory

Incorporation of Multi Strength Disciplnes Principles:

  • Strength may be at the heart of our methodology, our foundation, but we integrate principles from many sports, from Powerlifting to Wrestling, Olympic weightlifting to sprinting into our programming to build on this
  • This includes elements of speed and power to create explosiveness
  • Technical mastery of movement patterns and correct biomechanics

Variability and Specificity:

  • Our programs introduce a wide range of exercises specifically to target weaknesses and avoid plateaus
  • On the flip side of that we believe in sport/goal specific training and as such our programs include specialised exercises when necessary

Individualized Programming:

  • Our more advanced programing has an emphasis on individualization
  • All our advanced blocs are customized based on the lifter's strengths, weaknesses, time frame and specific goals

Multiple Phases:

  • The programs include hypertrophy, strength and power (and peaking phases where applicable) addressing most aspects of athletic development
  • This multifaceted approach helps our programming be benefitial to everyone from begginer to elite athlete

Practical Application:

  • Our methodology draws on our coaches personal experiences as competitors and coaches, utilising years of experience to insert practical insights into our programming
  • The programs have been successfully used by athletes across different sports, including powerlifting, soccer and mma

Competition Preparation:

  • Specific blocs are designed to prepare lifters for competition whatever that competitive modality may be
  • We dont often use deloads as fatigue mitigation is integrated into our methodology but can and are used if necessary
  • Specific peaking strategies are incorporated into the programming to ensure you enter competition at your very best

We love recovery:

  • Our methodology places a strong emphasis on recovery, addressing not only training but also sleep, nutrition, mentality and overall well-being
  • Recovery is key
     

 

It's essential to recognize that the effectiveness of a training method can vary based on individual factors. Some lifters respond well to high-frequency, high-volume approaches, while others thrive with lower frequency and more intensity. Additionally, some of our blocs may be better suited for beginners, while others are designed for intermediate or advanced lifters. On this site you will find all of these types of programs and more. But remember, experimentation and individualization are crucial components of finding the most effective approach for your specific needs and goals as is consulting with experienced coaches and continually assessing and adjusting your program based on your progress is essential for long-term success. The mental side of training can sometimes be the battle that we lose long before our bodies lose the war. Just like with our synergystic approach to training, supplementation and nutrition, so to is our approach to training in regards body and mind. At Lifting Bloc, our philosophy transcends the conventional boundaries of strength training. We believe in the seamless integration of mind and body, forging a complete approach that transcends the barbells and dumbbells. Our philosophy is rooted in principles that not only sculpt physical prowess but also nurture mental resilience, building a strong link between your physical and mental strength.

Discipline

Discipline, akin to strength, is a learned skill. No one is born with an innate ability to lift heavy weights, just as no one is inherently disciplined. It's a quality that demands consistent training, daily practice, and nurturing. By cultivating discipline over time, it becomes a valuable tool that can be utilized when needed. At Lifting Bloc, we prioritize discipline, integrating it into our programs more rigorously than any specific movement pattern. It is expected from everyone.

Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most

 

Hard work

Its not hard to argue that the default bevahoiur of humans is lazyness as opposed to hard work. Lazy is easy and often fun but rarely does it get the job done. Discipline and hard work are 2 seperate behaviours/skills that have a directly proportional relationship, as one increases so does the other. The level of discipline one possesses is positively correlated with the amount of hard work they are willing to put in to achieve their goals. A disciplined individual is more likely to consistently engage in hard work, and conversely a hard working person is likely to have great discipline. The act of putting in persistent effort and adhering to a rigorous work ethic often fosters discipline. It is expected from everyone.

Knowledge

A cornerstone of our ethos revolves around understanding — comprehending both the actions undertaken and the reasons behind them. The synergy between athlete and coach is greatly enhanced when they operate from a shared understanding. This demands concerted effort from both parties: the coach must effectively impart knowledge, while the athlete should seek to comprehend and question when uncertainties arise. A decade of experience at Lifting Bloc has shown us that optimal outcomes emerge not just from following instructions but from a deep understanding. This not only refines execution but also nurtures an environment where dialogue flows effortlessly, contributing to continual improvement.
